From the beginning of XX century, percussion has quickly developed, giving its condition a qualitative and quantitative value, which challenges as percussionist, to be in touch with everything that happens in our profession. So, the use of the objects by great composers to write plays considered as a repertoire today, generated the necessity of learning new endless ways of relationship with the instruments.
This seminar intends to trigger off attitudes, and at the same time to pave the way of making music with the objects around us.

Argentine folkloric music has a great variety of styles in which percussion plays a fundamental role. The rhythmical richness that this music includes proposes a study and a rich way for our profession. Besides, having typical instruments with very particular sounds requires, as most Latin folk music do, and specific way of playing them. It is this seminar aim, to approach us to this music and to know the instruments wich characterise it.

The South American percussion folk music has a very interesting mix between African music and music from the people who lived in America before Colon discovered it. Also the Spanish music influence gave to this rhythms a diversity which you will find in the all over continent.
