Ediciones del POZO - Presentation
“Ediciones del pozo” is an independent enterprise, carried out by Gabriel Amadeo Videla, wich has several goals:
• To generate a repertoire of music for percussion with folk music from Argentina.
• To lead the percussionist forwards other musicians to make chamber music.
• To spread his work and arrangements, and also other Argentinean musicians.
When some student enters to an Argentinean musical institution to study
percussion, there will be several problems to solve. For instance, lack
of material to play chamber music, difficult of buying pieces of music abroad
(due their cost); the quality of foreign pieces of music because they can
not be tested or seen beforehand; and finally, few pieces of Argentinean
music for percussion.Gabriel Amadeo Videla had his degree in the Alberto Ginastera conservatory of music in Morón City as a percussion teacher and, at the same time he studied piano, guitar, harmony and percussion. Besides he worked as a folk musician and tango singer for many years. That is why the approach of these kinds of music and arrangements join folk tradition with what is taught in the institution.
Within the titles there are three types of scores:
• Pieces for Keyboards percussion instruments, guitar and/or piano and voice.
• Pieces for solo percussion instruments or ensemble (concert pieces)
• Pieces for not conventional instruments.
Those pieces for singers, are written for tenor voice but can be replaced by a soprano (to the written octave) or be replaced by melodic instruments such as flute, oboe, violin, saxophone, violoncello, etc.
